A stop at Yahava Koffeeworks in Margaret River is the perfect start to the journey, as it’s sure to give you plenty of energy for the exciting day ahead. Yahava is a well-loved, local WA company that sources coffee beans from all around the globe. They offer a range of different coffees for you to try on their tasting benches, and an expert will walk you through the options while explaining how each cup is brewed - you can even watch the beans being freshly roasted right in front of you. For those of you who aren’t coffee fanatics, there is a large selection of loose-leaf teas to ensure you will be suitably perked up as well.
The Nookery Café is set against an impressive backdrop of jarrah and marri forest. It has a rustic, cosy charm, both inside the cottage style building and outside under the shady pergola or on the all-weather alfresco patio by the fish pond. There is also a grassy play area with swings for children and meals especially for them.
McHenry Hohnen's vineyards are managed using 100% biodynamic methods which are designed to improve the vitality and health of the soil. Biodynamic is similar to organic farming in that both take place without chemicals, but biodynamic farming incorporates ideas about a vineyard as an ecosystem, and also takes into account astrological influences and lunar cycles. Natural composts and manure teas are made onsite, no chemicals are used and in the main, lunar cycles are observed in administering the biodynamic regimes - "A better environment gives you a more enjoyable wine."
To make the early morning start a bit easier for you, we pick you up from your accommodation or nominated meeting point(within the Margaret River region).
